Wessex Historic Tractor and Implement Club

The club is dedicated to preserving historic agricultural machinery, tools and rural traditions. The club traces back to an early 1969 meeting, when a group of fourteen people, mostly exhibitors from the 1968 Hampshire County Ploughing Match, drew up simple rules and founded the club. The name refers to the area of the old Kingdom of Wessex, from which most founding members came.

The club organises displays, rallies, ploughing matches and road runs throughout the year, along with winter social meetings with talks, slide shows and quizzes about old tools. Since 1986 rallies have also taken place, which later developed into the event 'Tracks Across the Field'. The annual ploughing match has been a regular event since the club's early days and is open to participants from novice to expert using historic and classic machinery.

The club caters to people interested in all types of tractors, stationary engines and historic farm implements.
