The Griffin Trust

The Griffin Trust maintains a historic collection at Hooton Park in Cheshire, near the Vauxhall plant in Ellesmere Port.

In 1990 The Griffin Trust was founded as a charity and leased part of the former RAF Hooton Park site from Vauxhall Motors. The aircraft hangars were soon given listed building status, and the vehicle collection began. In 2000 the organisation moved into the so-called Motor Transport sheds, which were restored by 2007.

The tasks include exhibiting, restoring and maintaining the historic transport collection as well as maintaining the buildings. The organisation also offers the opportunity to volunteer and is committed to involving the local community.
