LE CHEVAL MECANIQUE

Le Cheval Mécanique is a club for enthusiasts of old cars based in Domancy, France. The featured vehicles include a Citroën Traction 11, Porsche 911 SC, Renault R5 Alpine and Autobianchi Primula Coupe S.

The club's founding dates back to 1979, officially established on 22 November 1979, with statutes deposited on 17 January 1980. The club emerged from a group of vehicle enthusiasts from Sallanches and its surroundings, at a time when there were few clubs for old vehicles in Haute-Savoie.

Since 1980 the club has organised the Rallye du Mont-Joly, a touristic and convivial event for pre-1949 vehicles, initially held annually and later every two years over four days. The 25th edition of the Rallye International du Mont-Joly is planned for 2026. The club distinguishes between active members, who own old vehicles, and allied members without their own vehicle.
