The club emerged from a discussion in a Lancia forum and was founded at a meeting in September 2007. In 2012 the club was designated as a model club by the manufacturer and the Lancia Club, and is also affiliated with ASI.

The club regularly organises national gatherings as well as spring and Christmas meetings and takes part in events such as Auto e Moto d'Epoca in Bologna. Members can take part in a spare parts exchange, a photo gallery and other club services.

Membership is open to those who own a Thema or are enthusiasts of the model.
