About the club

The Klub Miłośników Komunikacji Miejskiej w Warszawie (KMKM) is a club for friends of urban public transport based in Warsaw. On its website it presents, among other things, trams, trolleybuses and buses from its own vehicle fleet (Tabor) as well as reports on repairs.

The history of the club began in 1980. On 11 April 1980 a group of only seven hobbyists met for the first time, and this day is regarded as the start of the club's activity. From 2 January 1981 the club operated under the wing of the Museum Techniki. In the following years the number of members rose to as many as 60. The original goals included popularising the subject, collecting memorabilia and materials, and publishing a monograph on the Warsaw trams.

The meetings usually take place on a selected Friday of each month at 5:00 p.m. Club matters are discussed there, and there are also thematic meetings with presentations. The club is present at the Public Transport Days (DTP) and took part in a meeting of historic buses in Starachowice.

Anyone who cares about the fate of historic vehicles and has urban public transport as a hobby can join by submitting a membership declaration. For minors under 16, the consent of a parent or legal guardian is required.
