Historic Volkswagen Club

The Historic Volkswagen Club is a nationwide club in Great Britain dedicated to early Volkswagens. The focus is on Volkswagen Type 1 models built before 1979 as well as all special bodied VWs.

The club was founded in 1974 by a group of enthusiasts whose principal interest lay with the earliest beetles, the so-called 'split window' models. It is the only organisation catering exclusively for early Volkswagens in Britain and it has contacts with enthusiasts worldwide.

Members are offered four editions of the magazine per year along with help with restoration and maintenance, as well as a meeting point at major shows of the VW season. The club also offers age confirmation of Volkswagen vehicles for UK registration purposes.

The club is open to anyone interested, not necessarily owners, as well as members from overseas.
