The club was founded in 1982 and now has around 700 members. Every year it organizes several events, including the Coppa della Perugina, the Befana del Vigile, Perugia Storica, the Circuiti di Perugia e del Trasimeno, Via col Vento and the Trofeo Giorgio Lungarotti. Other activities include cultural outings, and the club's sporting group regularly achieves notable results in ASI events.

Locally, introductory and advanced courses on historic regularity driving are organized. Since 2006 the colour club newsletter Il Magnete has been published. The club is also socially engaged, including fundraising for first-aid medical equipment and support of a scholarship named after a road accident victim.
