About the club

The Club Antycznych Automobili i Rajdów (CAAR) is a classic car club based in Warsaw. It is the Polish branch of an international club that states it is active in 9 countries.

The idea goes back to 1984, when vehicles were shown on long rallies as a "driving museum". It began with a rally of the Citroën Traction Avant club from Paris to Moscow and back. After that, all vehicles that were 25 years old could take part. The Polish branch was registered in 1992 as an association in the court register. In 1993, 1995 and 1997 it organized three editions of an International Rally around Poland, each about 2000 km long.

The club usually organizes three touristic rallies per year, including one longer trip, as well as additional social meetings. As a rule, the club rallies have no competitions or classifications. The focus is on visiting interesting places, meeting fellow club members and presenting the vehicles. Members can take part in open events of foreign CAAR clubs. There is also an agreement with an insurer providing discounts for classic cars.
