About the club

The Automobilklub Podlaski is an automobile club based in Białystok (Poland). It describes itself as an association (stowarzyszenie) and as a company with tradition and experience. The website shows the note "Rok zał. 1961" (founded in 1961).

According to the source text, the origins go back to 19 March 1961. At that time a group of motoring enthusiasts passed a resolution to begin its activity. The first recreational and sporting event took place in October 1961, the "Pogoń za lisem" (fox hunt) with 145 participants on cars and motorcycles. A motorcycle section was founded in 1963, and in 1968 the first karting section was created at a technical school in Białystok. The club organised checkpoints of the Monte Carlo Rally and later the Rajd Podlaski rally. From 1974 to 1990 there was cooperation with the automobile club in Kaunas.

According to the website, the offering includes statutory commissions for motorsport, karting, tourism and BRD (road safety) as well as a vehicle inspection station. The source text contains no references to classic, vintage or historic vehicles.
