Archive of Microcars

The organisation covers vehicles with three or more wheels, engines up to 700 cc or equivalent electric propulsion, manufactured since 1944. It caters to owners of vehicles not eligible for any existing one-make clubs or registers.

The organisation was founded in 1980 as the Register Of Unusual Microcars. It is part of the DVLA V765 vehicle registration system and helps verify imported microcars. Since 1984 the Rumcar News magazine has been published four times a year and has become a reference work for microcar collectors worldwide. In 2018 the organisation was turned into a charity, and in 2019 it was renamed Archive of Microcars.

The core of the organisation is the Register of Unusual Microcars, which encourages owners to register their vehicles for access to information and contact with other owners of similar vehicles. The vehicles listed on the register originally started in the UK and now include vehicles from all continents.
